Integrated Roots Therapy LLC

Somatic Journey & Integration Workshop

‘Soma’ is a Greek word for body, or the living body known from within. Somatic therapy is an experiential approach towards mind-body integration. Traumatic experiences can take us away from feeling at home in our body, and as a result there is often a split within ourselves.

Somatic Therapy helps to:

Restore the body as a place of safety while helping to expand the capacity to process traumatic memory held in the body (non-verbal and pre-verbal).

-Metabolize unprocessed emotions

-Complete uncompleted stress responses

-Restore our optimal relationship to our self and the world around us

Somatic exercises can change how we live our lives, how we believe that our minds and bodies interrelate, how powerful we think we are in controlling our lives, and how responsible we should be in taking care of our total being-Tomas Hanna
